That sounds like the program is getting hung up for some reason. I would try replacing the preferences. Check out page 328 in the book.

Great blog!
I have a question… I have been moving photos from one folder to another, etc for months now. Today when I try to move a photo from one folder to another photo, the top left side of LR states “moving photos” has a long blank line and an x at the end. This usually shows its processing the move, but this time, its just blank. After 20 minutes nothing happens, but I try to move it again thinking I might not of done somthing the first time right, but it says something like “can’t proceed until this task is complete”, but nothing ever happens. So I force close LR down after an hour of waiting and reload it. Still same thing. I even tried to re optimize it… What can I do?

Thank you!
Michele

Hi Michele,

I would try replacing the preference file to see if that solved the problem:
