I came across an interesting alternative for sharing slideshows exported from Lightroom called slideshare. I blogged about it over at peachpit.com, but I couldn’t embed the slideshow in their blogging software, so I put it here to demo:

If you attempt to run a slideshow and get nothing but a blank screen you should update your video card driver and give it another go.
Yes, even if it had been working just fine in version 1.0.
If you stop (not pause) a slideshow you can select the next image you wish to start with in the Filmstrip, hold the Shift key and press Play to start on that image instead of the first slide. Otherwise the slideshow will always begin on the first image when restarted.
